Gibson-Thomas is providing construction inspection services on this $91 million project consisting of a new turnpike extension from I-79 to the Pittsburgh Airport, a new 5-span bridge with a total length of 1,350 ft over State Route 0980 in Cecil Township, the relocation of Ressing Road and Laurel Hill Road that will tie into State Route 0980, and the addition of cul-de sacs. Activities include 5 million cubic yards of excavation, 16,000 cubic yards of mine grouting, capping 17 gas wells, E&S controls, milling, pipe installation, asphalt paving, installation of concrete piers and concrete footers, utility relocation, and maintenance & protection of traffic.
