Indian Creek Dam

Indian Creek Dam is a 675 foot long, 36 foot high, structure located in Springfield Township, Fayette County. The dam is of the masonry gravity type, consisting of a boulder concrete core with cut sandstone block facings and cap. The dam was originally constructed to provide water to the Pennsylvania Railroad, but is now used for water supply and flow augmentation by the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County. Gibson-Thomas, along with our geotechnical consultants, oversaw a drilling program and prepared a Hydrologic and Hydraulic Report and Stability Evaluation for approval by PA DEP.
