Highridge Water Authority Water Distributions and Treatment System
This project involved the development of two water filtration plants with a total capacity of approximately 4.5 mgd and storage facilities of seven million gallons. This project was authorized by the Highridge Water Authority, and Pennvest funding was obtained. The total project of approximately $8.6 million brought the system in compliance with all requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act. The project also eliminated three major uncovered treatment water reservoirs and upgraded a significant amount of old 2″ galvanized lines and lead services.
Gibson-Thomas continues to function as the Highridge Water Authority engineer, recently completing distribution projects in the Pennview and Brush Valley areas of Indiana County. The projects include two tanks, a pump station and 23 miles of distribution lines.
