Dellwood Street Bridge

The Dellwood Street Bridge is located in the City of Johnstown, Cambria County, and carries the roadway over Plum Avenue and the Norfolk Southern Railway’s Pittsburgh Line. The nine-span structure has an overall length of 688 feet and consists of various prestressed concrete box beams, PA I-beams, and AASHTO I-beams supporting a concrete deck.

Preservation work included:

  • Replacement of the expansion joints at each pier
  • Placement of an epoxy surface treatment on the travel lanes
  • Minor spall repairs
  • Replacement of guide rail offset blocks and W-beam elements

This preservation project was completed in October 2015.
